Chokhor Duchen, which commemorates the anniversary of Lord Buddha’s first turning of the Dharma Wheel, is today. #ChokhorDuchen, a holiday observed in #Tibet and other parts of the world, commemorates the first time Buddha turned a wheel and declared the Four Nobel Truths.
Since it is believed that good deeds on Chokor Duchen are multiplied ten million times in karma, many Buddhists celebrate today by going to sacred sites, engaging in life releases, and concentrating on virtue. It marks one of the four great festivals celebrated by all #Tibetan #Buddhists. It is also known as #BuddhaSermonFestival and marks the first teaching given by the #Buddha on the 4th day of the 6th month of the #Tibetan calendar.
