The fourth Gyalwang Drukpa and head of the Drukpa lineage in Tibetan Buddhism was Kunkhyen Pema Karpo. Of all the Gyalwang Drukpas, he was the most well-known and knowledgeable. Known as the grand lama among all grand lamas throughout his lifetime, he taught countless lamas and pupils throughout Tibet.
