In the 2024 Global Freedom Report released on the 29th, Freedom House assessed the political rights and civil liberties of 201 countries and regions.

The latest Freedom House report on ‘Freedom in the World’ for 2024 reveals that Tibet has received a dismal score of 0 out of 100 for both political rights and civil liberties, marking a further decline compared to previous years. Last year, Tibet’s ranking was slightly higher at 1 out of 100. Despite ongoing protests in Dege and government crackdowns, Tibetans are persistently encountering profound challenges on the global front after enduring over 65 years of occupation.
